Meet Gary
Simmonds.
A long road.
A different way of seeing.
I’m Gary, a father of three and a two-tour U.S. Army veteran. After seventeen years of setbacks in network marketing, I began to understand what I now call the blind spot.
Follow his story
The way here
wasn’t a straight line.
A decision. A long stretch of learning.
Then a new perspective.
- At 24
The age he chose a different path
A different path.
Gary left a fully funded medical scholarship to pursue network marketing. Even as those around him questioned the decision, he was drawn to the possibility of more freedom with his time.
- 17 years
Of persistence through setbacks
The lesson took time.
Meetings, Saturday training, presentations and major events: Gary kept showing up. His biography describes seventeen years of setbacks while following the steps, without yet seeing what was missing.
- $55M+
Team sales reported by Gary
Seeing the blind spot.
Gary describes learning what his approach had been missing as the turning point. He reports that his once-struggling team went on to generate over $55 million in team sales. That experience now informs what he teaches.
- 1,000+
Entrepreneurs mentored
Passing the learning on.
Gary reports mentoring more than a thousand entrepreneurs. His biography describes a lifelong interest in helping others learn something new and put that knowledge into practice.
- 2 tours
Decorated U.S. Army veteran
A life beyond business.
Gary’s biography also records his service as a decorated U.S. Army veteran. Two tours of service are another part of the life behind the author, mentor and father of three.
From Gary’s biography and author profile. Mentoring figures are reported by Gary. Team sales are his reported organizational sales, not personal earnings or a promise of results.
There’s a life
behind the work.
For Gary, time freedom was always personal. A father of three and a two-tour U.S. Army veteran, he describes being able to help his parents leave the workforce in their sixties. His story is about what that time made possible for his family.
“I understood early on that time was far more important than chasing money.”

What stays
with the work.
The principles Gary puts at the center of his teaching.
- Knowledge over motivation.
- Keep learning beyond the initial enthusiasm.
- Strategy over luck.
- Give deliberate practice a place in the process.
- Consistency over intensity.
- Return to the work. Reflect, adjust and continue.
- Help others move forward.
- Make learning something that can be shared.
From effort
to understanding.
Gary’s experience leads to three ideas explored in the book: how people see your message, how trust shapes their response, and what makes a process teachable.
- Influence
- Understand how people perceive your message. The book explores the role influence plays in gaining attention.
- Trust
- Consider how your message is received. Trust shapes the conversation before you ask someone to take a next step.
- Duplication
- Make the process understandable. Focus on something another person can learn, practice and repeat.

Why I teach.
Even as a child, I loved helping people learn something new and seeing them put it into practice. That desire to help others is why I share what I learned along the way.
Network Marketing 101: Overcoming the Blind Spot brings those lessons into a guide to perception, influence, trust and a process others can understand and practice.
